Ken Van Vliet has been the Senior Pastor at Monte Vista Chapel since 2004. He and his wife Michelle have two adult children, Ben (married to Abby) and Rebekah. Ken grew up on his family farm in Escalon and worked the family business until God called him to ministry. He went on to receive his Bachelors of Science from CSU Stanislaus in Business Administration, his Master’s of Divinity from Bethel Seminary, and holds a Doctorate in Spiritual Formation from George Fox University where he now acts as a doctoral adviser in the Spiritual Formation department in an adjunct faculty role.
Ken’s idea of a perfect day off is a motorcycle ride through the mountains with a friend or two or a day in Napa with his wife. He loves to be outdoors either snow skiing or fishing.
As the Senior Pastor at Monte Vista Chapel, Ken leads and casts vision to the staff, Elder Board and congregation. He gives leadership to the Preaching and Management teams, while also directing The Journey, our own year-long spiritual formation cohort experience.
