The Journey Cohort 2: Getting started

Welcome to The Journey!  I am excited for our first gathering on October 6 and I’d like to give some information to help prepare you for our time together.  We are working on a blog site to give you regular access to all the information you will need during the year, but we aren’t quite ready for that to launch, so this email will give you all the info you need for right now!
Location:  Monte Vista Chapel, South Education Building (SEB / Youth building), room 124 (main room). If possible, please use the east entrance.
Time: We will begin at 3 pm sharp so please arrive by 2:45 to register. If it is your turn to bring food for the potluck, be sure to allow extra time to drop it off in its appropriate place. Giving yourself a few extra minutes to settle into our time together is a gift to both yourself and the community!
Childcare:  At this point, we are not providing childcare on campus.  If childcare is an issue or hardship for you, don’t hesitate to contact me or Dan Navarra and we will see how we can facilitate a solution.  Please reach out sooner rather than later.
Pre-work:  Read the first chapter of The Sacred Romance (click here to read) by Brent Curtis and John Eldrege.  Give yourself enough time and space to read it slowly.  Pay attention to what it stirs in you.  You may want to read it through more than once.  Also, take a moment to look at our Small Group Covenant. (click here to read)  You will be going over it in your small group when we gather.

Dinner: Each month The Journey meets on the MVC campus, we will share a potluck dinner together. You will receive information about who brings what next week.

As I write this note, I am also preparing for the final retreat of The Journey’s first cohort, and I can’t express what an amazing year it has been.  I am confident that as you step in for cohort 2 (even with the faith of a mustard seed), God will meet you and grow you in profound ways.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Blessings
Ken
