We are only a week away from our first gathering!  I am grateful for another group of men and women who are taking intentional steps towards a deeper relationship with God, themselves, and others.  If the first cohort was any indication, you are in for a rich year!  In the previous post (it originally came to you as an email) I gave you some reading from The Sacred Romance to prepare your hearts for what is in store.  I also want to invite you to read this short but important article by Parker Palmer entitled The Gift of Presence, The Perils of Advice in order to set some groundwork for your small group conversations.  Outside of that, please look at the dinner instructions below to see when you are up for bringing food for our dinner together!

 

Know that dozens of people have been, and continue to pray for you as you enter this experience with God and others.

 

See you Sunday at 2:45 pm in the South Education Building!  (I know it starts at 3 pm, but you will need a few minutes to get settled.  Coffee and drinks will be provided!)  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Dinner: Each month The Journey meets on the MVC campus, we will share a potluck dinner together. Below is a schedule for bringing food along with some instructions that will be helpful:

  • Each person/family will bring a dish to share every other month
  • Each dish should be able to feed 8-10 people
  • Please bring your dish ready to serve
  • Where should you place your dish when you arrive?
    • Please know that the kitchenette in the SEB will not be available to store food for the potluck
    • If your dish needs to be refrigerated, place it in the fridge in the church kitchen
    • If your dish needs to be kept hot, bring it in a crockpot and plug it in in SEB 121
    • If your dish does not need to be kept hot or cold, it can be placed on the tables in SEB 121
