Whether you have been at Monte Vista Chapel for six months or six years, a Discovery gathering is a great place to discover who we are at MVC and where we believe God is leading us. During our interactive time together, we will explore what it means to partner together in following Jesus and becoming more like him.
We will begin by unpacking a little bit of our history, sharing our vision and values, and answering any questions about membership, and more importantly, being part of what God is doing at Monte Vista Chapel.
Our next Discovery gathering will be on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. in the Travertine Room (WJB 102). Light snacks will be served.

David & Virginia Morris
ABWE
David and Virginia served with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism for over 40 years, of which 36 were in Durban, South Africa. At the close of 2023, they retired as full-time missionaries. But now, as ABWE Ambassadors, David continues to serve in a volunteer capacity as the treasurer/bookkeeper for the ABWE South African teams. In this role, he continues to be involved with several church building projects. He also continues to encourage African church leaders, disciple young believers, and teach group Bible studies via online platforms.
Residing now near Charlotte, North Carolina, they are near family and grandchildren.
Please be in prayer:
- For new missionaries to hear the call to evangelize and disciple South Africans.
- For our pastoral training college, that African men will be prepared to shepherd new church plants.
- For financial donations for our team’s very effective radio ministry among the Zulu population.
- For David’s online Bible teaching, mentoring, and discipleship.
- For Virginia's significant "grandmother role" in the lives of our 9 grandchildren.
With gratitude to MVC for its loving support during this generation of proclaiming Christ in Africa.
